A 'biggest of its kind' supermarket has opened in Glasgow.
Yalda is said to be the largest Persian supermarket to open in the city, unveiling in the city's Anniesland this week.
The family business was started by Mehdi Zaregol, who runs the store with his wife and brother.
They aim to introduce Glaswegians to Persian culture through food.
Highlighting the diversity of Glasgow’s culture, the shop is named after 'yalda', a centuries-old Persian tradition of marking the longest night of the year with food, family stories, and exchanging gifts.
Yalda will offer a wide range of Persian and Middle Eastern delicacies, including different types of rice, sweets, pickles, herbs, and dairy items.
There is also a bakery and a butchery, fruits and vegetables, and freshly-made coffee.
The family have plans to introduce products from Asia and Africa in the future.
Yalda is now open at 1589 Great Western Road, Glasgow, G13 1LR.
