An iconic Glasgow building has been transformed into a multi-floor jewellery store.

Laings is preparing to open the doors of its fully-furnished showroom, which has been built in the iconic B-listed Rowan House on Buchanan Street.

Following a £5 million investment, the showroom spans 7,113 square feet across two floors of retail space.

Glasgow Times:

An exact opening date has not yet been confirmed, but the store is expected to begin welcoming customers next month.

The building will feature the recently opened Rolex service centre, and the ground floor will be dedicated to other watch brands including Patek Philippe, TAG Heuer and Laings pre-owned.

On the second floor, shoppers can browse their range of jewellery including the bespoke Laings Family Collection.

An intimate dining space has also been created for exclusive events and private client meetings, whilst the three top floors will be home to Laings HQ.

The family-run firm has focused on restoring the building to its former glory and retained several original features such as the full-height feature window, which will sit alongside modern additions.

Glasgow Times:

The Laings area was developed by the in-house team, while the fit-out was delivered by shopfitters Esprit UK.

All staff at the existing Laings store in the nearby Argyll Arcade will transition to the new Glasgow showroom.

The refurbishment has also created four additional sales positions, bringing the total showroom staff count to 30.

Stuart McDowell, managing director of Laings, said: “We’re eagerly anticipating our Glasgow flagship opening and excited to be finalising this next significant step in our journey.

“Our team has worked meticulously to create a retail space that not only showcases our extensive collection of fine jewellery and watches but also reflects our commitment to craftsmanship and customer service.

“This move demonstrates our determination to revitalise the high street whilst continuing to deliver an elevated and truly immersive retail experience for our clients in our very own home city.”

To celebrate the opening, Laings is partnering with premier florist, Mud, to present stunning floral bouquets to passers-by.

The arrangement of the flowers has been selected to reflect the jewellers Summer campaign ‘A Summer’s Afternoon’, which will be launching on opening week.
