A SCHOOLBOY appeared at court today accused of murdering a 16-year-old.

The 13-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, allegedly assaulted Kory McCrimmon in Glasgow's Cranhill on May 31, 2024.

Court papers state that the boy stabbed Mr McCrimmon on the body with a knife or a similar bladed article.

Mr McCrimmon was taken to the city's Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where medics initially described his condition as "critical."

However, the teenager has since passed away.

The 13-year-old was initially charged with attempted murder.

He made no plea at a private hearing at Glasgow Sheriff Court to a charge of murder.

He was committed for further examination and remanded in custody by Sheriff Mary Shields.

The boy, from Glasgow, will appear at court again within the next eight days.
