A much-loved Glasgow pub has permanently closed down leaving punters gutted.

The Hall on Sauchiehall Street in the city centre shut down on Saturday, June 1.

The venue - which is known for being a 'lively modern bar' - took to social media to say 'goodbye' for a final time after several years on Sunday.

In the post, staff of the bar posed as they said it has been a 'pleasure'.

Meanwhile, in an Instagram post last week, the bar announced the closure with 'regret'.

The venue's signs have since been removed from outside the unit, while a to-let sign has been installed on it.

'Bye' has also been written on the windows of the unit.

In the social media post, the pub said: "It's been a pleasure Sauchiehall Street.

"Thanks for being sound to us, goodbye."

In the Instagram post, they said: "It is with regret that we must inform you that after Saturday, June 1, The Hall will close permanently.

"We want to thank our customers; both those who have been regulars for years, and those we have known only a short time. Thank you for making The Hall what it is today."

Following the gutting news, punters of the venue flocked to the comments to express their sadness.

One said: "Gutter.

"Was in a few weeks ago and was busy for a Thursday. Great pub."

A second chimed: "The end of an era."

Another added: "Best place in Glasgow - had so many good nights in there. All the best team."

Meanwhile, a fourth said: "Heartbreaking. All the best guys."
