Construction noise will be heard overnight as work is to take place on Glasgow's M8 over two weeks.

Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is undertaking essential parapet upgrades on the M8 Gartcraig Road Overbridge at Junction 12.

The work will begin from Friday, June 14 and will be done overnight between 10pm and 6am.  

Lanes will be closed on both the M8 eastbound and westbound carriageways with temporary traffic signals installed to manage traffic on the overbridge.

The schedule of work is as follows: 

Friday, June 14 and Saturday, June 15: Closures are required on the M8 eastbound carriageway and will include the hard shoulder, Lane 1 and Lane 2, and the Junction 12 on-slip road. 

Friday, June 21 and Saturday, June 22: Closures are required on the M8 westbound carriageway and will include the hard shoulder, Lane 1, and Lane 2. 

Friday, June 28: Closures are required on the M8 eastbound carriageway and will include the hard shoulder, Lane 1, and Lane 2. 

Saturday, June 29: Closures are required on the M8 westbound carriageway and will include the hard shoulder, Lane 1, and Lane 2. 

Temporary traffic signals will be installed on Gartcraig Road overbridge during the dates above. 

People are being warned that there will be construction noise on Gartcraig Road during working hours and Amey apologises in advance for any inconvenience. 

Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained on Gartcraig Road overbridge throughout these works.
