A Celtic player has gotten engaged to his long-distance girlfriend after popping the question on holiday.
Goalkeeper Benjamin Siegrist asked his partner Brittany Hockley to marry him during a visit to see her in her native Australia.
They met there in 2022 during then-manager Ange Postecoglou's homecoming tour and have since had a long-distance relationship.
Radio presenter Brittany shared the news with her Instagram followers and wrote: "In any lifetime it’s a YES! Just two people loving each other for the rest of our lives."
She also shared snippets of the lavish proposal which included the pair whisked onto a private beach in a helicopter and enjoying time on a luxury yacht.
Well wishes soon poured in for the couple from friends and fans, with one commenting: "Congratulations Brittany! I'm really proud of you!"
Another said: "The bachelorette finally nails down her prince. This is the best news everrrrr!!"
Meanwhile Siegrist's former teammate Aaron Mooy added: "Congrats."
