Cops were called to a Glasgow street after a boy was found 'with a firearm'.
Officers descended on Argyle Street in the city centre at around 5pm on Saturday.
The force confirmed that they had been called to the area at that time after receiving a report of a boy with what was understood to be a firearm.
A BB gun was recovered and a 16-year-old male was arrested and charged.
A report will be sent to the procurator fiscal and there is no wider threat to the public.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 5pm on Saturday, June 15, 2024, we received a report of a boy with what was understood to be a firearm in the Argyle Street area of Glasgow.
"Officers attended a 16-year-old boy was arrested and charged. A BB gun was recovered. A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.
"There was no wider threat to the public.”
