NHS Lanarkshire has issued a warning due to its emergency departments being extremely 'busy'.
The health board has said its Accident and Emergency (A&E) facilities at the University Hospital Wishaw, the University Hospital Monklands, and the University Hospital Hairmyres are 'exceptionally busy'.
Due to this, they are urging members of the public to only visit A&E if they have a 'serious health problem that requires urgent treatment'.
Taking to social media to warn people of the issue, NHS Lanarkshire said: "Our Emergency Departments are exceptionally busy across all our three hospitals in Lanarkshire – University Hospital Wishaw, University Hospital Monklands and University Hospital Hairmyres.
"Please only come to the Emergency Department if you have a serious health problem that requires urgent treatment."
