Signs have appeared for a new Popeyes restaurant opening in Glasgow.
A bright orange shop frontage representing the American fried chicken chain has appeared outside an empty unit on Sauchiehall Street in the city centre.
While the name is covered in tape, the branding appears to be for Popeyes.

We previously reported that the fast-food giant had gained permission in 2022 to open the store at number 108.
The move comes after the huge success of Popeyes opening a restaurant in Barrhead in September 2023.
Customers queued outside for hours and one man even camped outside to get a taste of the Popeyes fried chicken 'crunch' which is achieved with their special recipe from Louisiana.

Graham Welsh from Paisley was the first customer in the drive-thru queue for the new restaurant and his efforts won him free chicken sandwiches for a year.
Popeyes also opened a restaurant in Aberdeen in April.

Tom Crowley, CEO at Popeyes UK, said: “Opening restaurants in Scotland has been key for us since we first landed in the UK, and following the huge success of Popeyes Barrhead, we’re thrilled to be bringing the flavours of New Orleans to fans in Aberdeen and Glasgow city centre.
“Our recent openings have been some of the biggest to date, not just in the UK but for Popeyes globally, and we are confident that our new launches in Aberdeen and Glasgow will be just as popular.
“This is just the beginning for us in Scotland, and we’re looking forward to announcing further plans of upcoming openings across the country very soon.”
An exact opening date for the Sauchiehall Street spot is yet to be revealed, but we have contacted Popeyes to confirm.
