The ribbon has been cut on a block of brand-new homes in Govan today which have already been hailed as iconic.
8 Water Row is now home to 92 social housing flats which have been built by CCG (Scotland).
Most of the two-bedroom homes have a balcony, either protruding or integrated, and the development hosts 23 parking spaces and one disabled parking bay. The homes also offer residents views over the Clyde to the Riverside Museum.

Councillor Jacqueline McLaren, Lord Provost of Glasgow, unveiled the homes as she was joined by Caron Quinn, Govan Housing Association chief executive, and Gary Maguire, Govan Housing Association interim chair.
Gary told the Glasgow Times: “Today is the first time I’ve seen the finished flats – it’s just amazing, it’s iconic.
“As a Govanite I’m dead proud. I’ve said for years, when this was in the pipeline, that this is going to be iconic for Govan.
“It’s been hard, we’ve had the pandemic, the cost-of-living crisis, everything was up against us, but we delivered it because it is important.
“It’s something I really didn’t think I would see round about Govan Cross. I’m very passionate about Govan. It’s a great development.”
The development is phase one of a plan which was approved in 2019 by Glasgow City Council and Govan Housing Association who own the units.
The plan - which is looking to regenerate the Govan community - also incorporates the construction of the £29.5m bridge linking Govan and Partick which is due to open in September.

The houses will be developed in three phases which will see up to 200 homes built.
So far, residents seem to be loving their new homes, according to Caron.
She said: “Everybody has been very positive. They are delighted with the standard of the properties.”
She added: “It is a momentous occasion that we are opening the Water Row development as it has been in the pipeline for years and I’m overjoyed that people are now moving in.
“I think this will change the face of Govan. It will be a positive move, no doubt about it.”
Collective Architecture, Brown and Wallace, G3 Engineers, Rankin Fraser, and Carbon Futures have been involved in the design of the new homes.
