A major retailer with over 1,000 shops is set to close one of its stores in Cumbernauld next month.
Card Factory has announced its branch on Teviot Walk in the town will shut down on Saturday, July 20.
The store is located in The Centre Cumbernauld - a local shopping centre in the area.
The retailer - which specialises in cards and gifts for celebrations - revealed they have decided to close the store due to having another one 'around the corner' in the Antonine Shopping Centre on Forth Walk.
Following the news, gutted locals took to social media to express their sadness about the closure.
One said: "Another one gone."
A second said: "Absolute shambles."
While a third chimed: "Another one bites the dust."
A spokesperson for Card Factory said: “We continually review our estate of over 1,050 stores across the UK and Ireland.
"With our other Cumbernauld store just around the corner in the Antonine Shopping Centre on Forth Walk, (0.2 miles away), we have taken the decision to close our store on Teviot Walk from July 20.
"We look forward to continuing to serve all our Cumbernauld customers and helping them celebrate their special life moments.”
