Part of Glasgow's M8 motorway will be hit with closures and restrictions from next week.

Amey - on behalf of Transport Scotland - will be carrying out essential resurfacing works on the eastbound M8 at Junction 30 (Craigton Interchange).

The work will take place from Tuesday, June 25 until Friday, July 5.

During it, parts of the road will be hit restrictions on some days, while parts will also be closed on others.

Here are all the restrictions and closures that will be in place throughout the work:

  • Between 8pm on Tuesday, June 25 and 6am on Wednesday, June 26, there will be single-lane closures on both the eastbound and westbound carriageways of the M8 between Junctions 29A and 31.
  • From 8pm on Wednesday, June 26 until 6am on Thursday, June 27, there will be a total closure of the M8 westbound carriageway between Junctions 29A and 30, as well as single lane closures between Junctions 30 and 31 in both directions.
  •  A 24-hour contraflow will be in place between Junction 29A and north of Junction 30, as well as a total closure of the eastbound Junction 31 on-slip and Junction 30 off-slip to the M898 between 6am on Thursday, June 27 and 8pm on Thursday, July 4.
  • From 8pm on Thursday, July 4 until 6am on Friday, July 5, there will be a total closure of the M8 westbound carriageway between Junctions 29A and 30, as well as single lane closures between Junctions 30 and 31 in both directions.
