Pupils from a Glasgow school installed a time capsule to celebrate the restoration of The Briggait, the city's former fish market.

Wasps Studios, a provider of creative spaces, joined hands with Blackfriars Primary School children.

The P6 pupils worked with Kayleigh Sarah McGuinness, an artist based in The Briggait, on art workshops that examined the Glasgow landmark’s historical significance.

They then exhibited a large artwork on paper last year in recognition of The Briggait's 150th anniversary in December 2023.

The pupils from the Gorbals school added some of their own pieces, influenced by The Briggait's illustrious past and architecture, into the time capsule accompanied by class teacher Ailsa Taylor.

Their artwork will go into the time capsule along with the contributions of nearly 150 artists and makers who operate from The Briggait.

The initiative, which involves Blackfriar Primary School children and The Briggait artists, is a part of the wider Clydeside Market Halls development scheme.
