Part of the M8 will be closed for over a week for essential work.
Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is undertaking essential resurfacing on the westbound M8 between Arkleston Cemetery and the Junction 27 off-slip.
This will result in closures from Thursday, July 4 until Monday, July 15.
There will be a westbound lane closure between Junctions 26 and 27 between 8pm on Thursday, July 4 and 6am on Friday, July 5, before overnight closures commence between 8pm and 6am each night from Friday, July 5.
There will be daytime lane closures between Saturday, July 6 and Monday, July 15, and an additional daytime closure of the Junction 27 off-slip road on Sunday, July 7 between 6am and 8pm.
Traffic will be diverted as follows:
Westbound traffic will leave the M8 at Junction 26 and be directed to the A736 Hillington Road, and then follow the westbound A8 Glasgow Road, and head onto Glebe Street.
From here, traffic will continue on A741 Paisley Road/ Renfrew Road to rejoin the westbound M8 at Abbotsinch Roundabout.
During the Junction 27 westbound off-slip road closure, traffic will continue to Junction 29 and return eastbound to take the Junction 27 eastbound off-slip.
Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout these works.
This scheme aims to benefit vehicles using this route by improving the condition of the road and reducing the need for more extensive maintenance in the future.
