UPDATE: The Erskine Bridge has reopened, police have confirmed.
A major road near Glasgow has been closed in both directions due to a 'police incident'.
Officers and emergency teams are currently at the Erskine Bridge amid an ongoing incident.
Traffic Scotland is urging travellers to avoid the area at this time.
It is not clear when the issue is expected to be resolved.
A spokesperson said: "A898 Erskine Bridge CLOSED in both directions due to a police incident.
"Emergency services at scene. Please use alternative route at this time."
Police Scotland was contacted for comment.
