CCTV has been released following a serious assault on a train from Glasgow Central.

The incident took place at around 7.30pm on Saturday, May 18, onboard the 6.46pm service from Glasgow Central to Largs.

Now, cops probing the alleged attack have released images of two men they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.

The first man is described as being aged between 18 and 20 years old, having a slim build and short light-coloured hair shaved at the sides.

He was wearing a pink t-shirt, light-coloured trousers, and grey Nike trainers, and was carrying a light-coloured satchel.

The second man is also described as being between 18 and 20 years old and of slim build.

However, cops say he has short brown hair and was wearing a grey t-shirt with a white Nike logo and dark stripes around the sleeves.

He was also wearing a chain over the T-shirt as well as dark trousers.

A spokesperson for the British Transport Police said: "Officers believe that the males in the images may have information which could assist their enquiries and would urge them, or anyone who recognises them, to contact British Transport Police by texting 61016 or by calling 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference 2400062889.

"Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
