A violent rapist who terrorised his two former girlfriends has been jailed. 

Charles Fyfe Morrison was found guilty of five charges, including three serious sexual assaults, following a trial at Paisley High Court on June 12.

The vile 27-year-old targeted the women at various locations in Paisley and Edinburgh over four years. 

During his time with the first victim, he forced her to settle debts he had accrued, sold her belongings, took out loans in her name and forced her to take out mobile phone contracts on his behalf.

He monitored and quizzed her about her mobile phone activity and isolated her from her friends, family, and healthcare professionals.  

Morrison would throw items, hit walls and shout, swear and utter threats towards her.  

The abuser forced his victim to take medication which was prescribed to him and stopped her from leaving a property.  

During one stage of the tirade of abuse, Morrison violently assaulted the woman and held scissors to her abdomen.  

Morrison's second victim experienced a similar campaign of violence as he held a knife to her stomach. 

He also forced her to send him money and to borrow funds from relatives, without paying it back.  

During their relationship, Morrison subjected the woman to violent attacks including choking her, all to her injury and the danger of life.  

The abuser took her mobile phone from her so she couldn't call for help and threatened to harm her dog. 

The brute was given a nine-year extended sentence with a seven-year custodial term at Paisley High Court on Thursday, July 11.

He is also on the sex offenders register for an indefinite period and he cannot contact or attempt to contact his victims for 15 years. 

Detective Inspector Cheryl Gebbie said: “Morrison has been found to be a danger to women and will now face the consequences of his actions.

“I hope his conviction and sentencing will bring justice to the women involved, who have shown great strength in reporting what happened to them.

“Police Scotland is committed to tackling all forms of violent and sexual offences, regardless of when they happened. I’d urge anyone who has been a victim of such abuse to come forward and report it to us.

"We will thoroughly investigate any reports and, working with our partner agencies, you will be supported throughout the process.”

Scotland’s procurator fiscal for High Court Sexual Offences, Katrina Parkes, said: 

“Charles Fyfe Morrison is a dangerous individual who subjected his victims to unimaginable trauma and abuse over a number of years.  

“It is thanks to the bravery of these women that this prosecution has been possible.   

“I would urge any victim of similar crime not to suffer in silence but to report it and seek support.  

“You will be listened to and we will use every tool available in seeking justice.”
