A restaurant in Cumbernauld has announced its shock closure.

Houstons Bar & Grill - which is located in Auchenkilns Park in the town - took to social media to reveal the devastating news recently.

In the post, the local eatery said it will be shutting its doors on Sunday, July 21.

They said: "Time to say goodbye.

"It is with regret that we announce our doors will close for the final time on July 21.

"Join us for one last farewell over the coming week!"

Gutted punters flocked to the comments of the post to share their sadness of the news.

One said: "Aw. Another hits the dust."

A second chimed: "That's such a shame. We always enjoyed eating at Houstons, the food was always amazing. Best wishes to all of you."

Another added: "I'm absolutely gutted."

A fourth said: "Another one bites the dust."
