Thousands of revellers have embarked on Glasgow Green today as day one of TRNSMT 2024 has begun.
We know most festival goers this weekend will come with a budget in mind for food and drinks, so I challenged myself to see what £20 will get me at the popular city festival.
From noodles and Indian cuisine to Greek food, there were dozens of food trucks and bars to pick from - including a non-alcoholic booze truck which is the first of its kind at TRNSMT.

After scanning the field to see what I was in the mood for, I decided to grab something from The Burger Shack.
I went for the Ultimate Smash Burger Meal, which cost £12 - a price I was pleasantly surprised at.
The burger came with two patties, lettuce and red onion, as well as a choice of cheese - which I didn't opt for - and a side of chips.
The patties were lovely and juicy and the fresh brioche bun was a nice treat.
Though the portion of chips looked quite small on first sight, combined with the burger, I was left with just the right amount of stuffed to be able to hit the mosh pit in no time.
To go along with my meal, I decided to grab a bottle of water which cost £2.50 and a 0.4% Brooklyn Special Effects Hoppy Lager which cost £5.50.
My fellow beer drinkers will know that there is nothing like an ice-cold lager in the sun, but sadly, my bottle of choice was sitting on a table inside a sweltering bar tent. Considering the price, I was quite disappointed.

The bottle of water was a pretty standard price when it comes to getting a soft drink at a gig or festival these days. And given the heat here today, it definitely seemed a good way to finish out the budget.
Overall, a good-tasting and well-portioned meal alongside a beer and water didn't feel too bad at all for £20.
