A new Glasgow restaurant opening this month has been 'years' in the making, say the experienced owners.
We reported that signs had appeared at an empty unit on Hutcheson Street in the Merchant City indicating a new arrival to the city's food and drink scene, Poko Loko.
Specialising in tacos and tequila, the team behind this new venture promise 'a taste of Mexico' right here in Glasgow with a dedication to high-quality food and drink in a lively, authentic atmosphere.

It is being launched by Adam Strang and Stuart Kay, who have previously worked as managers of hospitality venues in Glasgow.
Poko Loko is the result of their shared years of experience in the industry and a brand that has been the subject of 'countless' discussions over the years.

The pair have teamed up with local carpenter and artist, Ray McKinstry, to create a vibrant and colourful restaurant which will emulate the lively backstreets of Mexico and create a 'unique' dining experience in the city.
In terms of the food, they promise a menu bursting with bold flavours and fresh ingredients, laden with Mexican authenticity as well as a touch of 'Glaswegian charm'.

Complementing the food is an extensive selection of premium tequilas and handcrafted cocktails.
Adam said: “We’re looking forward to opening the doors and showcasing what our team has done here.
"The venue blends vibrant colours and eclectic designs heavily inspired by Mexican back streets.
"The idea was to create an immersive atmosphere from the moment you walk into Poko Loko and we can’t wait for people to experience the energy and creativity of the venue.”
