THREE people are to stand trial next year charged with the murder of a man in a flat.

Amanda Welsh, 48, Conor Thomas, 28, and Laura McHugh, 31, allegedly attacked Joseph McGready at the property in Braid Square in Glasgow's Maryhill last September 29.

It is claimed the 30-year-old was accused of theft, threatened as well as being repeatedly stabbed and struck on the head and body with a knife or knives.

Mr McGready is said to have been left so severely hurt that he passed away days later in hospital.

The three suspects face a separate charge of then attempting to defeat the ends of justice.

This includes a claim that Mr McGready was moved from the flat and left in the communal close.

An item of clothing belonging to him was also allegedly taken and thrown onto the roof of a nearby property.

The trio are further accused of having an offensive weapon or weapons in a public place.

The case was called today at the High Court in Glasgow where their lawyers pleaded not guilty on their behalf.

Defence KCs Tony Graham, Thomas Ross and Tony Lenehan along with prosecutor Kath Harper agreed a trial could be set.

Lord Scott went on to fix a trial scheduled to start in June 2025.

The case could last around nine days.
