A well-known tribute band have said performing in Glasgow always makes them smile.
UK Pink Floyd Experience, who have been going for nearly two decades, are looking forward to returning to the city as they prepare to play at The Royal Concert Hall.
“Glasgow audiences are a pleasure; they just love it, and it always makes me smile being in the city,” David Power, producer and star of the show said.
He added: “We play 125 shows yearly around the UK, as well as the likes of Canada and Finland, but Scottish audiences are always so pleased to see you, it goes down so well.”
The group - which also consists of Rick Benbow (piano, Hammond organ, keyboards), Paul Andrews (electric Guitar, acoustic Guitar), Mike Bollard (electric Guitar, acoustic guitar, keyboards), Francesco Borrelli (drums and percussion), Emma Street (vocals and percussion) and Jo Paterson-Neild (vocals and percussion) - will play the city centre venue for the first time on Saturday, August 24.

Changing the setlist every year, the 2024 show will celebrate 30 years since the release of Floyd’s live album, Pulse, which was recorded during the European leg of the group’s Division Bell Tour in 1994.
The new show will also include tracks from The Wall, Animals, The Dark Side of the Moon and Wish You Were Here and promises to recreate the atmosphere of Floyd live while putting on a stunning light show.
David said: “A lot of time has been spent assembling the right people to sound as much like the original Pink Floyd as possible and I think we’ve got close.
“We pride ourselves on a great show and we have a great crew to achieve it.
“The experience involves a choreographed light show and state-of-the-art sound, as well as smoke and lasers.”
David started the show in 2007 after developing a deep love for the English rock group in his teens.
He explained: “I grew up with classic bands and artists like David Bowie but Floyd stood out to me.
“I was a musician as a teen and since I had a passion for Floyd, I thought why not make a living out of it? I’m blessed to be able to do that. We love it.”

Though the group have yet to meet the original members of Pink Floyd, David is still hopeful that one day they might.
David said the group’s drummer has done a workshop with Nick Mason once, but no other members have had the pleasure.
He added: “Someday though, maybe. I guess you never know.”
