Police were called to an 'incident' involving a group with 'weapons' in Coatbridge.
Officers descended on Lomond Road in the town on Sunday evening at around 6.35pm.
They received reports of a gang of youths allegedly being possession of weapons.
When officers arrived at the scene they arrested a 15-year-old boy and charged him in connection with being in possession of an offensive weapon.
He has been released and a report will be sent to the procurator fiscal, and the Children's Reporter is also being notified.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Shortly after 6.35pm on Saturday, July 20, 2024, we received reports of a group of youths in possession of weapons in the area of Lomond Road in Coatbridge.
“Officers attended and a 15-year-old boy was arrested and charged with being in possession of an offensive weapon.
"He was later released and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal. The Children's Reporter will also be notified.”
