A Glasgow woman was stuck in a 'grim' hotel after her flight home was delayed twice.

Kimberley Craig was set to fly Edinburgh from Dalaman in Turkey on Saturday night when her easyJet flight was delayed, resulting in her being 'abandoned' in a below-standard hotel.

Images shared by the traveller on Twitter/X show appear to show a hotel room with grime and dirt on the shower door and bathroom tap.

The backyard of the hotel appears to be filled with pallets and stacks of building materials.

Kimberley also claimed she had been unable to get food or water during her stay as the hotel did not accept card payments and she had no cash.

When she returned to the airport on Sunday, Kimberley was transferred to another flight and delayed once again, Edinburgh Live reports.

Kimberley said: "My flight from Dalaman to Edinburgh last night was delayed. Then around 1am we received an email and app update with new flight times at 1pm the next day.

"Before we left the airport to go to the accommodation, again with little information, the flight from 1:30pm had been delayed twice to quarter to 5 tonight! The accommodation as you can see is appalling.

"There was no food or water offered to us and myself having zero cash, the accommodation didn’t accept cards so we've had no food or water since 4pm yesterday. The bus picked us back up from the accommodation at 10am for a 5pm flight and as we were all security checked for boarding the flight has been delayed until 12.40am.

"There are no easyJet staff ground crew to speak to. I was refused food and water as I don’t have a paper boarding pass as I checked in online and cannot get anyone from easyJet or the airport to speak with us."

An update from easyJet on their website when the flight was initially delayed on Saturday referenced air traffic control restrictions and insisted the decision was out of the airline's control.

A spokesperson for easyJet said: “We’re sorry that, due to the impact of air traffic control restrictions caused by adverse weather and capacity restrictions, flight EZY3282 from Dalaman to Edinburgh on Saturday 20 July was delayed overnight.

“We have been doing all possible to minimise the impact of the disruption, providing hotel accommodation and meals for those who require them.

“We are sorry that this accommodation fell below the standards expected for these customers and so in light of their feedback we are looking into this with our hotel provider.

“The safety and wellbeing of our customers and crew is our highest priority and while this was outside of our control, we would like to apologise for the inconvenience caused.”
