Scottish Water has launched a new Top Up Tap in the city centre in honour of its decade of support for Glasgow's Pride.

This achievement goes side by side with the 10th anniversary of the LGBT+ Belong group at the water utility company.

Located next to the People’s Palace on the West Carriageway at Glasgow Green, hundreds of Pride participants filled their bottles from it during their three-mile march from Festival Park to Glasgow Green.

Subsequently, 240 refillable bottles were provided by Scottish Water to participants.

Martin Robertson, project manager at Scottish Water and co-founder of the LGBT+ Belong group, said: “Pride Glasgow was a fantastic day, each year it gets bigger and bolder.

“It was brilliant to see so many supporters embracing the celebrations. Remembering that Pride is about championing acceptance of diversity and equality for all, empowering people to be able to live their authentic lives.

“It was also a bonus to unveil Glasgow's latest Top Up Tap on the day when the streets were so bright and colourful and fittingly 10 years since we first attended Glasgow Pride in Glasgow Green.

“The success of Pride events is a testament to the power of the people and the real sense of community was beautiful. It is great to have recognition from the organisation to support Pride events so proudly."

Glasgow now has 10 refill taps, saving the equivalent of more than a million single-use plastic bottles since 2018.

Scottish Water's wider campaign, ‘Your Water, Your Life', has seen 124 distinctive taps installed throughout Scotland.
