Humza Yousaf shared an emotional message hailing his newborn daughter and the NHS.
The former first minister's youngest daughter Liyana Jenin Yousaf was born last week.
Yesterday, in an Instagram post, the politician praised the baby's resilience and thanked the health service and staff at Ninewells Hospital in Dundee for providing "exceptional care".
He said: "Liyana, my wee warrior.
"A few complications with very high bilirubin levels,m so a few days in hospital for some phototherapy but Liyana's recovery has gone well.
"Although upsetting to see your child unwell, I am filled with gratitude. How blessed are we to have an NHS free at the point of need, filled with exceptional staff( a special mention to the Transitional Care Team at Ninewells Hospital)."
