A motor has been deliberately torched on a residential street in Airdrie.

Police say the incident took place on Drumgelloch Street in the town shortly after 3am on Tuesday, July 23.

The force was alerted to a white Mazda 3 on fire.

Following the incident, officers have revealed they are treating the blaze as wilful.

Now, they are urging anyone with information on the fire to come forward.

Detective Constable David Williamson said: “I am appealing to anyone who may have any information which could assist us to contact us.

“We would also be keen to speak to anyone who may have dash-cam or private CCTV footage from the area.”
