Drivers are being told to 'avoid' a busy Glasgow road this weekend as part of it will be closed.

Glasgow City Council says Clyde Street in the city centre will be shut westbound between Stockwell Street and Jamaica Street from 9.30am until 6pm on Sunday, July 28.

The local authority has said the closure will be in place to allow Scottish Water manhole repairs.

During the work, drivers are being urged to 'avoid the area'.

A diversion will be in place for motorists.
