More than 30 new homes could be built in Glasgow's Southside.

AS Homes Scotland submitted a planning application to develop a vacant land next to Castlemilk's Glenacre Terrace.

The land, 1.67 acres, is surrounded by existing houses and will be made out of 16 two-storey homes and 12 flats over one four-storey block.

These include one wheelchair-adaptable ground floor flat and four cottages, all for social rent.

Papers state: "The proposal will create a welcoming and attractive residential area with well-integrated and useable open space and landscaping areas.

"There are some open space features in the locale, with a sports centre and swimming pool to the east of the site, various sports clubs, and pitches associated with Castleton Primary School to the south, as well as a local community centre. "

The proposal is being considered by Glasgow City Council planning officials and a decision is expected by Friday, September 6.
