A Glasgow food outlet will be 'sadly missed' as it is closing in the next few days after eight years.

Spanish cafe, shop and delicatessen Taste-Spain La Parada is having its 'last days' in business after almost a decade of business on Byres Road.

They plan to close permanently soon and they cited 'new plans' in their lives as part of the reason for the change.

They thanked all of their customers over the years who enjoyed their authentic produce and said they were 'glad' to bring a taste of Spain to Scotland.

A spokesperson said: "Hi everyone!

"These are our last days with the business and we want to thank everyone who has been there during these 8 years for their support.

"It's hard to say goodbye to so many people we've seen every week in the deli shop or every month throughout Scottish markets for years. You have made us part of your regular purchases and we are glad to have brought products from our homeland to our beloved Scotland.

"Different reasons have led us to take this decision although it was not easy at all; however new plans in our lives are waiting for us out there (show must go on!).

"This week and next one will be the last two weeks of trading in case you miss some products from Spain before closing permanently.

"Thank you very much!"

Devastated customers shared their sadness but wished the team well for the future.

One wrote: "This is so very sad to read. You have been fantastic every time I've been in the shop and so lovely."

A second said: "So sad to hear. Good luck with all your future adventures."

A third added: "We will miss you! Wishing you all the best for the future!"

We previously reported that the West End space had gone up for sale in February.
