A Glasgow bar revealed it is closing for the 'last time' in a sudden announcement.

G41 in the city's Shawlands will trade for the final time on Sunday, August 4.

Owners Lisa and Jamie told customers the news with a 'heavy heart' and thanked them for all of their support over the years.

Despite saying August 4 would be the 'last time' G41 is open, they teased that it's not 'goodbye'.

They said: "It’s with a heavy heart we have to let you know G41 bar will be closing its doors for the last time on Sunday 4th August…..

"We would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who has supported us, customers and especially our staff, we are forever grateful….we will still be here until the 4th, so pop in and see us and let’s make the remaining time a farewell to remember!!

"We’re taking a wee bit time out…but it’s not goodbye…it’s see you soon….

"Lots of love, Lisa & Jamie."

Punters shared their well wishes and sadness at the new of the closure.

One said: "Sorry to hear that."

Another added: "Sorry to hear that. Hope you can open somewhere again."

A third wrote: "This is very sad, but I'm sure it won't stop you two having the next great adventure."

G41 first opened in August 2022 as a bespoke cocktail bar serving a range of drinks and tapas dishes.

It was also a venue known for its live music nights and regularly hosted dedicated jazz and soul events.

This closure comes just days after we reported that city centre spot The Lab closed after 25 years.

The Lab, located on Springfield Court just off Buchanan Street in the town, told customers that Saturday, July 20 would be their last day of trading.
