Residents are being asked to fill out a survey about how they would change Springburn.

Spirit of Springburn members are looking for insight into what needs to be improved in the "forgotten-about" Glasgow area.

Frank McGowan, community hub co-ordinator, said: "We are looking to the future. It's a chance for people to tell us what they would like to see next, what is most important to them.

"The questions are on everything from litter to green spaces and how Springburn is perceived.

"We are looking into heritage as well. There has been a decline in shops and services, people are waiting longer to see their GP, so there are a lot of issues."

There are two weeks left to send in replies and influence what the area becomes.

The group encourages everyone who lives in North Glasgow to have their say.

Frank added: "This is a way for everyday people to have a voice and for them to be listened to.

"Sometimes if a city council or businesses are making decisions for us, people who are the most in need can be missed out.

"But this gives them that voice and it's a great way to do it.

"It's an exciting opportunity and one that doesn't come up a lot in Springburn."

The survey is part of the Local Place Plan, which has already provided £4,000 in fuel support, given away for 10,000 food parcels and more.

The survey can be filled out here.

Frank said: "Springburn is known throughout the world for its innovation in the railway industry, but the area has been forgotten about in recent years.

"We cut through the heart of it and destroyed the community. There was a period of decline.

"This is our way of coming back. We are still here and we have a bright future."
