Armed cops swooped on a residential street in East Kilbride amid an 'incident'.

Police say they were called to an alleged disturbance at a property in the Lyttleton area of the town.

The force was alerted to the incident at around 6pm on Thursday, July 25.

999 crews - including armed officers - raced to the scene.

Following that, a 32-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection.

He is due to appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court on Friday, July 26.

Luckily, no one was injured during the incident.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "Around 6.15pm on Thursday, July 25, 2024, we were called to a report of a disturbance at an address in Lyttleton, East Kilbride.

“Officers attended. No one was injured.

“A 32-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection and due to appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court on Friday, July 26, 2024.”
