Glasgow is well-known for having loads of great restaurants, bars, and cafes.

Over the years, several famous faces have popped into many of the city's fantastic venues.

Celebs that have dined, drank, or dropped by Glasgow eateries and boozers include Lorraine Kelly, Lewis Capaldi, Sir Rod Stewart, and many more.

Recently, Cùl Cùil - which is based on West Nile Street in the city centre - welcomed TV icon Martin Compston.

The 40-year-old actor - who is from Greenock - is known for his roles in Line of Duty, Sweet Sixteen, The Wee Man, and many more.

The star popped by the venue - which serves up international dishes, cocktails and craft beer - with his pals ahead of TRNSMT 2024.

During his visit, Martin was also joined by Scottish actor Greg McHugh (Gary Tank Commander).

Another Glasgow eatery that has been visited by a much-loved celeb is The Ivy on Buchanan Street.

TV legend Lorraine Kelly has previously dined at the plush restaurant on the Style Mile as she enjoyed time off her daytime show - Lorraine.

The Gorbals-born presenter, 64, was joined at the venue by her mum Anne.

Murphy's Irish Bar - which is located on Bell Street in the Merchant City - has been visited by one celebrity several times over the years.

Sir Rod Stewart is known for visiting the Irish boozer. 

Earlier this year, the 79-year-old delighted fans with a surprise performance at the pub on Saturday, April 20, 2024.

The Maggie May singer got behind the mic alongside Scottish county musician Kevin McGuire and John McLaughlin - the singer from Glasgow-based band Johnny Mac & The Faithful.

Hoops-daft Rod has also visited other venues in the city including Radisson RED Glasgow, Kelvingrove Cafe, and GLASCHU.

Another well-known venue to be visited by a loved celebrity is the University Cafe on Byres Road in the West End.

In April, the iconic Glasgow eatery received a visit from Scottish singer-songwriter Lewis Capaldi.

The 27-year-old - who is known for his tunes including Someone You Loved and Pointless - popped by the venue for an 'ice cream'.

Taking to social media to share the news, the cafe said: "Only the best ice cream for our Lewis!"

The much-loved Glasgow cafe was first opened by Italian-born Pasquale Verrechia on September 1, 1918, and he has passed the business down across four generations.

Recently, Hollywood actor Barry Keoghan was spotted at a Glasgow 'phenomenon' restaurant.

The 31-year-old Saltburn star - who is from Dublin, Ireland - dined at Italian eatery Eusebi Deli in the West End.

The actor shared his visit to the venue on social media.
