A multi-award-winning Broadway musical is set to make its way to Glasgow later this year.
Come From Away is based on a poignant true tale following the immediate aftermath of 9/11, highlighting the extraordinary hospitality of a small Canadian Newfoundland community towards air passengers from all over the world who were grounded in Canada.
The show will premiere at King's Theatre from September 24 to 28, with tickets available to purchase at atgtickets.com/venues/kings-theatre-glasgow.
The celebrated musical has bagged four Olivier Awards including Best New Musical in London and the Tony Award for Best Direction of a Musical on Broadway.
It weaves together joyous storytelling, soaring music, and the spirit of human unity, with the musical celebrating the friendships forged between locals and passengers.
Real-life characters are featured in the performance including American Airlines' first female captain, the quick-thinking town mayor, a New York firefighter's mother and a local news reporter.
Natasha J Barnes stars as Janice, the TV reporter in Newfoundland witnessing 9/11.
Daniel Crowder underscores the spirit of unity as Nick, a British oil engineer and Sara Poyzer takes the helm as Beverley Bass, the first female captain for American Airlines who will also star in the show.
Tony Award-winning director Christopher Ashley, Olivier Award-winning writers Irene Sankoff and David Hein, along with the outstanding cast, bring forth this heartening tale of hope, humanity, and togetherness.
