A man was rushed to hospital after a 'stabbing' in Glasgow's East End.

Police say they were called to an alleged serious assault in the Gallowgate at around 6.55pm on Tuesday, July 30.

999 crews raced to the scene.

After that, a 36-year-old man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital with serious injuries.

It is understood the man was allegedly stabbed during the incident.

Following the alleged attack, two men - aged 26 and 27 - were arrested and charged in connection.

They are due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court today (Wednesday, July 31).

Meanwhile, police say another 25-year-old man was also arrested, however, he was released pending further enquiries.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "Around 6.55pm on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, we were called to a report of a serious assault in Gallowgate, Glasgow.

"A 36-year-old man was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital with serious injuries.

"Two men, aged 26 and 37, were arrested and charged in connection with the incident.

"They are due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Wednesday, July 31, 2024.

"A 25-year-old man was also arrested and released pending further enquiry."
