Two Glasgow roads have been closed by police due to an ongoing incident.

Alexandra Parade is currently shut between Easter Craigs and Cumbernauld Road in the city's East End.

Meanwhile, Cumbernauld Road is also closed to all traffic between Bannatyne Avenue and Alexandra Parade.

Glasgow City Council's roads department says this is due to a road traffic collision.

Officers are on the scene and drivers are urged to avoid the area and use another route.

Cops confirmed that the incident has involved a truck and a cyclist.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 5.20pm on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, we received a report of a crash involving a truck and a cyclist.

"Emergency services are in attendance."
