A pie shop in Paisley has received high praise in the Scottish Parliament.

The Paisley Pie Company was commended for its planned expansion and innovative approach to the traditional pie market.

Neil Bibby MSP lodged the parliamentary motion in celebration of the company's success after just a one-year stint in the industry.

The West Scotland MSP delivered high praise to company owner, Scott McGinlay, at the new business site highlighting the contribution the company has made to the local economy.

Scott said: "We are thrilled to be acknowledged in the Scottish Parliament and are grateful for the support of Neil Bibby MSP.

"Our team is excited about the expansion and the opportunity to continue serving our customers with new and exciting pie options.

“We look forward to welcoming everyone to our new location later in the year."

(Image: Neil Bibby MSP) Mr Bibby's motion emphasised the impressive variety of pies offered, which include unique offerings such as Mini Chicken Tikka and Big Mac pies, in addition to familiar favourites of classic steak and sausage pies.

Known for its high-quality products, the Paisley Pie Company is a hit among locals and tourists on Bridge Street.

The planned expansion involves a new refurbished premise on the corner of Causeyside Street and Forbes Place, due to be open later in the summer.

Mr Bibby said: "The Paisley Pie Company is a shining example of what local businesses can achieve with passion and innovation.

“Scott McGinlay and his team have not only created fantastic products for local people but their growing appeal has led to many people to visiting the town to sample them too.
