A young woman has been 'seriously sexually assaulted' in Motherwell.
Police say they were called to a report of a woman allegedly being sexually assaulted in the Hamilton Road area of the town at around 7.20pm on Wednesday, July 31.
According to the force, a 20-year-old woman was 'attacked' in the area.

A 39-year-old man was arrested in connection with the alleged incident, however, he has been released pending further enquiries.
An investigation into the incident is underway.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Around 7.20pm on Wednesday, July 31, we received a report of a 20-year-old woman having been seriously sexually assaulted in the Hamilton Road area of Motherwell.
“A 39-year-old man was arrested in connection and released pending further enquiries.
“Enquiries are ongoing.”
