Adams, Burns and Esnol ransacked the Mr Clark's flat and only made off with £30 as well as his bank cards.

Adams was later spotted using Mr Clark's bank card at a William Hill where he gambled £790 on machines.

Adams, Burns and Esnol pleaded guilty at Glasgow Sheriff Court to hamesucken.

Esnol admitted separate charges of breaching bail.

The court heard that Esnol had previously known Mr Clark and was subjected to bail conditions against him.

Mr Clark was home alone when his door was banged by one of the trio.

He noticed Esnol as well as two men wearing face coverings.

Prosecutor Katie Malcolm said: "As Mr Clark looked around, Adams struck him to the head with a metal object causing him to bleed from his head.

"All three entered the flat and Adams began stating that he knew he had £1,000 in cash and to tell him where it was.

"Mr Clark said that he didn't have any money."

Esnol and Burns looked through drawers and belongings in the flat while Adams brandished the blade at Mr Clark.

Esnol and Burns took a mobile phone, a debit card and a savings card before they made off.

Adams - who stayed for a further hour - then demanded his Sekonda watch which Mr Clark handed over.

Adams also took £30 from Mr Clark's wallet as well as the card to his current account.

Miss Malcolm added: "He brandished the knife and demanded his PIN which he gave him."

Mr Clark later dialled 999. He was taken to hospital where he was treated overnight for cuts and bruises.

Miss Malcolm said: "Mr Clark did not cancel the bank cards and CCTV of William Hill showed Adams using the bank card on gambling machines.

"There was a total loss of £790 from Mr Clark's bank account."

Esnol was traced when she stated: "I didn't rob him, I was just there and took a bank card."

Burns meantime said: "I didn't rob anybody" while Adams, also of Queen's Park, made no reply.

Sentence was deferred until the end of the month by Sheriff Brian Cameron.
