The booking system for South Lanarkshire waste centres has been put on hold due to strike action.
A new system which was supposed to go live on August 5 is being postponed due to industrial action which is planned between August 14 and August 22.
Kevin Carr, Head of Facilities, Waste and Grounds Services, said: “The reasons for trialling the booking system were to reduce waiting times, reduce queuing on adjacent roads, reduce incidents of abuse to staff and prevent residents from other local authority areas using the site.
“The decision to delay its implementation is a temporary one, because of the impending industrial action and its impact on our waste services.
“We will be communicating any other changes to our service via the council’s social media accounts.
“We will also communicate the revised start date for the booking system when we have it confirmed.”
