The Daily Record reports that the spot attracts celebrity diners including Deacon Blue singer Ricky Ross and Two Doors Down actress Elaine C Smith.

Owner Billy McAneney, 74, told the newspaper: “This could be our last year of business because the whole area is slowly and surely being demolished and I know there are big plans over the next 10 years to knock the whole place down.

“I’m slightly surprised the building would be given listed status because it is one of the last buildings standing that were made with Bison wall-frame construction.

"Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like that will happen so we are not sure how long we will be able to continue.

“If it goes on that’s fine but not many places last 40 years.

“We’re going out with a bang."

He added: "“As well as people like Ricky Ross and Elaine C Smith we have people who have been coming since day one and sadly others who are no longer with us.”
