The OVO Hydro has responded to a huge demand for singer Chappell Roan to perform there on her tour.

The pop star will perform in the city on Sunday, September 15 at Glasgow’s 02 Academy to a sold-out audience.

However, hundreds of fans are begging for the 26-year-old to add on more dates or take on the city’s biggest venue.

Some ticket touts are even flogging resale tickets for more than £2000 despite some revellers claiming they paid just £20 for face value.

It comes after she shot to fame for her Pink Pony Club, HOT TO GO and Good luck babe songs which she will perform as part of her Midwest Princess Tour'.

The headline show was originally planned for SW3G before being moved to a bigger venue at the 02 Academy.

Now fans are begging she is upgraded again but to their disappointment the Hydro posted a TikTok saying they have no plans to host her yet.

The clip shows a Hydro staff member with text reading “Me the next time someone asks us to upgrade Chappell Roan to the OVO Hydro”.

It is quickly followed by a voice over saying: “Take a look around, do you see her anywhere? Newsflash! You’re not gonna.”

The viral TikTok sound comes from the iconic 2003 movie Uptown Girls starring Dakota Fanning and Brittany Murphy.

Fans were quick to comment on their frustration and ask the venue to rethink having her.

Although the venue is hosting Scottish rock band Texas the same night as Chappell’s Glasgow tour date.

One said: “I literally check Ticketmaster every day for resale tickets. She could definitely upgrade”

A second said: “Why though?! O2 academy is too small!”

A third said: “Please upgrade Chappell Roan to the OVO Hydro.”

A fourth said: “Guys Texas is playing the hydro the same night… what we should really be asking is for Chappell Roan to do two nights in the academy lol.”

Meanwhile, disappointed fans took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to try and get a ticket.

One said: “Really want to go see Chappell Roan in Glasgow but whoever is selling these tickets on StubHub deserves jail time.”
