An iconic Glasgow bar has teased the opening date of their second venue in the city.

Vodka Wodka, a cemented part of Ashton Lane since 2001, has long delighted revellers, students and West Enders with its range of cocktails and comfort food pizzas.

A highlight is their famous Jolly Rancher cocktail, designed to look and taste like a fruit pastel which the bar team says contributes to a third of their income.

Now they are expanding, and we previously reported on their plans to open in the Merchant City.

The team recently teased that they will be shaking up cocktails as soon as next month in a quirky TikTok video.

In the clip, a man and his dog sit on a bench inside the Merchant Square, where the bar is expected to open. 

When they stand up, a note taped to the bench reveals Vodka Wodka's famous logo with the words 'Merchant Square, coming September 2024.'

Fans of the popular drinking spot shared their excitement, with one commenting: "Phenomenal news for Jolly Rancher lovers."

Another told their friends: "During my birthday month, we need to go!"

A third added: "Yesssss."

Vodka Wodka will not be the only new arrival to Merchant Square, as we reported that pizza restaurant Sano will also be expanding their repertoire in the city.

Using the best ingredients from Italy and focusing on traditional Neapolitan pizzas, Sano carried out an extensive refurbishment of their unit before opening to customers earlier this week.
