A MAN was found with more than £1000 worth of drugs and cash.

Police were at Lochbrae in Rutherglen around 9pm on January 27, 2022, when they spotted a Vauxhall vehicle with Lewis Lees standing next to it on the pavement.

Cops saw the 23-year-old pass items into the car and take a sum of money.

They stopped Lees and found £120 in cash on him, as well as a bag of cannabis, weighing 7.64g.

Officers went to Lees’ Rutherglen home and searched it. There, they found a further 97g of cannabis, plastic bags and another £120 in cash.

The passenger of the vehicle admitted to police that he was buying cannabis.

The total value of the drugs was £1040.

Lees was arrested and conveyed to a police station.

He was also arrested following a separate incident on February 10, 2023, when he grabbed a man and ripped his shirt.

Police were called and when they arrived, Lees was handcuffed.

He was then taken to a police vehicle but resisted so he was put to the ground and fast-strapped.

Lees spat at cops, which landed close by, so a spit hood was applied.

He was taken to London Road police station, cautioned and charged.

He appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court where Sheriff Allan McKay said he will use a “relatively exceptional approach”.

Sentence was deferred for six months for good behaviour and reports.
