A motorist abandoned his car and legged it after seeing road cops in Glasgow.

Officers from the city's Roads Policing team said a Volkswagen Golf driver 'didn't fancy hanging about' when he saw them recently.

According to the force, the road user ditched their motor in the middle of the road and went for a 'quick jog'.

However, police then uplifted the vehicle for 'causing an obstruction'.

Now, officers have said the driver is 'more than welcome to collect their car' after a 'chat'.

A spokesperson for Road Policing Scotland said: "This driver didn't fancy hanging about when he saw Glasgow Road Policing.

"After abandoning their car in the middle of the road and going for a quick jog, it was uplifted for causing an obstruction.

"The driver is more than welcome to collect their car after we have a chat."
