Two busy roads near the motorway have been closed for hours due to an incident.
Police say the A8011 is currently shut between junction 4a of the M80 northbound and Back O’Hill roundabout towards Cumbernauld Town Centre.
This is due to a serious road crash involving one vehicle and the closure has been in place since around 11.40pm on Saturday, August 17.
The A73 is also closed between Junction 5 of the M80 and Chapelton roundabout.
A man, who was driving the vehicle, was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment.
The road closures are expected to be in place for a number of hours while officers carry out their investigations.
Local diversions are in place.
