A free outdoor gym has opened in Airdrie with state-of-the-art exercise gear for community usage.
The equipment in Moffat View, Plains features adjustable pistons to increase the resistance during workouts.
There is also a free app that people can download to track their fitness progress and provide tips.
The project, costing £37,000, was funded by North Lanarkshire Council's Local Development Programme and a grant secured by Plains Community Futures.
Councillor Geraldine Woods, convener of the Communities Committee, said: "This fantastic new gym will provide local residents the opportunity to enjoy some exercise in the fresh air within their local community rather than having to travel out with the village."
Matt Costello. Community partnership manager, added: "This is an excellent example of the council's Community Partnership Team working in partnership with local community group Plains Community Futures to develop and deliver a much-needed community resource that local people will enjoy for years to come."
The equipment is suitable for anyone over the age of 14.
