Council plans to transform an area of Glasgow are being finalised.
Glasgow City Council is arranging a 'final draft' of its Greater Easterhouse Strategic Development Framework (SDF), which aims to invest in and develop 16 residential areas around the city's Easterhouse.
It will also help initiatives such as the Seven Lochs Wetland Park Project, the Liveable Neighbourhoods programme and more housing in Greater Easterhouse.
We previously reported that investment was needed for the Glasgow Lochs shopping centre and that this was highlighted as part of the SDF.
The area is also home to one of the city's oldest buildings, Provan Hall.

The great vision for this plan is to improve the well-being and economic growth of both the community and residents of Greater Easterhouse.
Five other SDFs in Glasgow cover the city centre, Govan-Partick, the Inner East, North Glasgow and the River Clyde.
A number of key outcomes have been outlined for Greater Easterhouse, to develop the area as a vibrant place for local people and a more liveable place.
It is also hoped that the area will become better connected and serve as a place where people, places and communities are linked by safe and enjoyable walking and cycling routes, as well as public transport.
Under the plans, Greater Easterhouse will also have an integrated, high-quality green, blue and grey infrastructure network that helps reduce climate change, protects and enhances biodiversity and helps the shift to net zero carbon.
The draft of this plan involved consultation with members of the public, who also addressed the need for play areas, active travel and public transport improvements.

If the council’s City Administration Committee approves the plans, the council will notify the Scottish Government.
Councillor Ruairi Kelly, convener for neighbourhood assets and services at Glasgow City Council, said: “This Framework will help to not only continue the recent development and regeneration of Greater Easterhouse but also guide future work and projects to drive the best use of land for the area.
"By using the Framework at local and very local levels, the council and our partners will work together to deliver the vision for Greater Easterhouse as a more vibrant, sustainable, connected and resilient place.”
