A taxi driver was robbed of his car in Glasgow's East End.
Police were alerted after around 11.35pm on Thursday, August 22, 2024, a blue Skoda taxi was flagged down by two men in Langbar Crescent near to Edinburgh Road.
One of the men took out a knife and threatened the driver, then made off in the vehicle.
The car was later discovered abandoned after crashing into a tree near St Luke's Avenue in Carluke in South Lanarkshire.
A second car was reported stolen from outside a property in Lanark Road, Carluke, in the early hours of the next day.
This, a black Mercedes EQB, was later found abandoned on Hallhill Road, Barlanark.
Detectives believe the incidents are linked.

Detective Sergeant Scott McNulty said: “Enquiries are at an early stage to establish the full circumstances surrounding this robbery and we are appealing for any potential witnesses to get in touch.
“From CCTV it is understood that a number of people were waiting at a bus stop on Edinburgh Road at the time of the incident and we would like to speak to anyone who may have seen what happened.
“We would also urge anyone who may have seen a blue Skoda taxi or a black Mercedes EQB being driven erratically in the Carluke area in the early hours of Friday morning, or who may have dash-cam footage of significance, to please come forward.”
